So I drove to Lawrence to see my friend Mike, and to go to a concert... sadly Mike couldn't make it to the show.
I did however get a ticket and spent a few hours in Lawrence :)

I don't know what the deal is with the fireflies, however they seem to be attracted into my room, much like june bugs and other beetley kind of bugs. And gnats.
Watched Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals (which could have been a championship game, had Carolina won) at Willie's Sports Bar where I got dinner that night. I was wearing an Avs jersey that day too :)
I ate at Taco Bell on Friday night, and caught another lightning bug in my room.
Yesterday I watched Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals (yet again could have been the championship game)...
I did something else, but I'll post that here shortly.

2. Beat a Video Game
Finally, I decided to beat one of the best video games ever made for PC. I got it for a friend of mine years ago, and made a copy. It was so hard, I never made it past the first "year".
I present to you... Grim Fandango... one of the best artistically driven games out there. Its an adventure game. Its not a shoot'em-up game. It takes a brain. The music, the art.. its a beautiful game with a tremendous challenge involved.

57. Watch a New Movie
Today I went to see Cars, the new Disney Pixar film. It had Owen Wilson('s voice) so I couldn't pass it up :) Cute movie, wasn't a lot of total laugh out loud moments, but I will give a tiny spoiler and say that probably one of my personal favorite moments was based off of someone yelling "FREEBIRD!" Heh.
Amazingly, while sitting with Jesse after the movie (strangely enough, he was there with a group of friends, I was invited, then uninvited (grr), then said "screw this, I'm going anyway") I was like "I think that one car's voice was Michael Keaton..." I looked it up on IMDB, and sure enough it was. Funny how some people just have very distinctive, memorable voices.
Out of 5 stars, I give it 3. It wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible either.

12. Finish a Big Project
So the time finally came that my new lease started at my new location in Manhattan. I packed up stuff, loaded my car numerous times, unloaded my car numerous times. I went up and down stairs more times than I care to admit to. I fell down the stairs carrying a heavy box of kitchen glass cookware, swearing I broke my ankle, but amazingly it rolled off the step before rolling itself into a massive sprain. The downer is that I have a nice bruise on my shoulder from the bannister on the way down. **the cookware survived at least :)**
It really probably took me 3 whole days worth, but to be nice, I'm dropping it down to 48 hours of solid work.
Some people wouldn't consider moving fun. However I love my roommates (in different ways, heh), I love saving money and I love the fact that I still have my own space.

39. Catch Fireflies
I know this is an odd way to complete a mission, but it was an odd thing to have some green blinking... thing in my bathroom. I walk in and noticed a little black bug in the bathroom, didn't think much of it. Later on with the lights off I see something literally blinking. I didn't remember leaving my straightening iron on, and the light for that is red anyway. I turned on the light, and the blinking greenness came from my little black bug friend on the wall.
I grabbed my cup from Chipotle. I scooped him in it and put the lid on. I shut off the light. My cup blinked green.
I took the little guy (girl?) outside, and then he wouldn't get out of the cup. I had to dump him onto the deck steps for him to finally get out.

18. Go to a Mall
I went to the Westridge Mall in Topeka today. Seriously you might as well go to the Manhattan Town Center. The only reason I really went was to get my new glasses...I think otherwise I walked the entire mall in about 20 minutes. Sad.

53. Visit a City
Today I was supposed to do a secret shop at the mall in Manhattan, to get a new pair of glasses, however there is no client at the location stated in my shop paperwork. Even better, we don't have one in Manhattan at all. Brilliant. I however had a half-off coupon that I wasn't going to waste. I ran to my eye doc here in town and got my prescription, and hit the road to Topeka.
I got to Topeka, got my glasses, wandered around the mall a bit, went to BestBuy. I came home. Whee.

19. Eat Out
The problem with moving is that I don't seem to know which place has what food/cooking utensils, etc. So... I eat out. A lot. I will probably until Thursday.

Moving takes it out of you. And having friends help you move means you should probably take them out to eat at least in return.
Jesse, Kuffs and I went to So Long tonight... good times. I had a Jack Smack burger, onion rings, and we got the Chipotle Rasberry and Black Bean dip. Jesse's a jerk and is all "rerrreerrerrerr my name is Jesse and I don't like raspberries or black beans." Kuffs liked it though.

It was lunchtime.
I was hungry.
I asked Kuffs and Jesse what they were doing. They didn't know.
I came to pick them up.
We drove through the union parking lot, and decided on Arbys.
Arbys was packed. GO HOME FFA kids! :)
We walked to Jimmy Johns. I had a tasty #6 (Vegetarian, for those of you who don't speak Jimmy Johns). It was good times.

22. Wear Jerseys
My friend Matt asked me, "who are you rooting for in the game tonight?" in reference to the Carolina/Buffalo game. I said "Well I'm wearing an Avs sweater today. Otherwise I'm rooting for the jumbotron to fall, or just rooting for the zamboni in general."
It wasn't super hot today, so I wore my Avs 3rd sweater.
