19. Eat Out

While I'm not a fan of Gambino's Pizza, I made an exception today. Jesse and I were getting the keys to our new house, and decided to get lunch with Kuffs. We picked him up at Nichols, and headed to Aggieville.

I had the buffet. Salad, some pizza.. yeah.

19. Eat Out

I had dinner with Jesse, Kuffs and Big John, and we went to Chilis. It pretty good. I keep ordering the Grilled Shrimp Alfredo, I wish I wouldn't because there are other far tastier things out there, but for some reason I'm like "ooh shrimp!"

58. Cook a new food

So I had a few items in my fridge that I needed to get rid of before I move (ie I don't want to have to move them!), so I found a recipe for a cucumber dip that seemed like it might be tasty utilizing a few of those ingredients.

* 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
* 1 cucumber, peeled and diced
* 1 small onion, diced
* 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
* 1 teaspoon garlic salt
In a bowl, thoroughly blend the cream cheese, cucumber, onion, mayonnaise, and garlic salt. Cover, and chill in the refrigerator until serving.

Anyway.. it was quick (it'd be quicker with a blender, or a larger chopper, because my cm^3 cucumber pieces seemed a bit large), and it is quite tasty. I tried it with chips... you need sturdy chips for it. Its great on Ritz and Triscuits. Veggies? Eh its like veggie overload. Maybe not so much with the dipping veggie variety.

13. Go to a Live Concert

Last night I took the opportunity to go with some friends to Aggieville and play some trivia (ha, who won? I did a few times, but not all. :D ) and get some tasty food and drink at BW3s and Auntie Mae's. While at Auntie Mae's, a band from here in Manhattan played. While Country/Americana Rock isn't necessarily my thing, Mankato was pretty good. They did get my feet tapping here and there, and cover was only $1 to get in. I will not complain. I didn't have to buy a ticket (rather, there was cover charged), and sadly I didn't have my camera. I did however run into Dave from Ruskabank :) He's so awesome...

19. Eat Out

I'm feeling quite lazy today, although I *did* brave the crowds at Walmart, and went to the post office to mail off some eBay items... I stopped at Quiznos for lunch. I got the Double Stack Pastrami sandwich. It was alright. I liked the mustard, but otherwise it was a pastrami sandwich. Far more expensive than I'd want to pay for it.

13. Go To a Concert

The whole reason for the trip to Missouri, North Kansas City, specifically? To see Anything but Joey and Everclear!

You can check out my pics from the show at http://www.punkfrogproductions.com/052506.

Here is a bad picture of JeffyP and I.

53. Visit a City

To get to Harrah's North KC Casino, I did have to go to the OP to pick up Jesse, however I'll be nice and not count that. However to get to north KC... I did travel 125 miles. I was proud, I knew the way to get to Harrahs and didn't get lost. Of course, just in case I had my trust directions written down, and my sidekick navigator with me :)

Visit a City: 150 pts
50 pts for every 50 miles to get there: 100 pts
Total: 250 pts

54. Visit a State

To get to our destination, Jesse and I had to go to MISSOURI (woooo!!!!). However since we were on a severe time crunch, I couldn't pull over on the interstate and get a picture at the state line. Anyway though, it wasn't too terribly far to get there, but yeah.

19.Eat Out

Yes, I ate out again today, but I was on the road and didn't have much choice...

I ate at Taco Bueno with Jesse at the Topeka Service area on the turnpike. I had a Mucho Nachos (I think thats what it was. It was a #5!) with a beef soft taco, and an orange soda. Isn't it weird how I call cola, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, Mt Dew, etc "pop" yet when it comes to a fruit flavored pop, with the flavor name, it becomes "soda"? Anyway :)

19. Eat Out

Mmmmm Panera.

I ate out for lunch today, going to the ever fabulous(ly expensive) Panera. I got some delicious French Onion Soup and Sesame Asian Chicken. I love that place, its just kind of expensive for what you get.

5. Get Sonic Drinks

Went to Sonic after White Castle Wednesday (I'll explain that sometime!), and got me a Route 44 Lime Slush. Sonic is losing my respect, they really need to a) fix things that are broken, b) not lie to me saying "we don't make lime slushes in Route 44s.." and c) get rid of the lady that works at the drive up. I do not like her. After battling a few minutes with them, I got my Route 44 Lime Slush. D) they need to put more lime flavor in it... talk about weak! heh.

19. Eat Out

Weekly Goodness! Buffalo Wild Wings is usually a part of my Tuesday nights, along with Chris, Jenette, Shannon and Nicole. Ate a Classic Burger w/ Teriyaki sauce (mmm) and a side of potato wedges and ranch (they forgot my cheese... eh it happens). Good food, good people, good trivia, good times :)

15. Have a TV Show Marathon

Yesterday after my afternoon of beauty at the mall, I came home and thought, "now what?" I thought about it, and didn't feel like starting up the video game mision again, because the game I'd been playing makes me feel like throwing up after about 15 minutes from the camera movements. What else could I do though that would be great for a lazy Saturday?

I looked in my tv cabinet and found two choices... The Muppet Show Season 1, or Grey's Anatomy Season 1. While I love the Muppets, I'm going to save that one for another time because that one is just too huge... although worth far more points. That one might get saved until break between my two classes. I grabbed Grey's Anatomy Season 1.

I popped in disc 1. I watched 5 episodes. I had to take a bathroom break. Upon returning I brought back some snackage. I popped in disc 2. I watched the last 5 episodes... ending around 12:30 this morning. I was too tired to post about it at the time, but yeah. Its funny how if you don't do anything, you're just as tired, if not more tired, than actually doing things...

Extra Points:

28. Dye Hair

I got my hair dyed today... I like it.

The picture doesn't do it much justice, flashes do strange things. Anyway.. its my normal non-human burgundy colored base color, and it alternates with an ash brown, burgundy, bright Coca-Cola can red, burgundy... I LOVE IT. It screams "HIIIII I LOOK LIKE AUTUMN TREES ON AMBER'S HEAD!" heh.

+100 for dying hair
+300 for dying it non-human color(s)
Total points = 400

18. Go to a Mall

I got up this morning far too early on my own accord. I bummed around the house for a bit. I then got this ingenius idea to go to the mall! I needed to get my hair done anyway... and I needed some clothes, so I figured, hey, why not?

I started off my trip at 10 when it opened. I first went to the salon, however my stylist was booked till 2. I wandered around a bit, as there was a sports card show going on. Very very little hockey. I was deeply saddened. Anyway though, I went to Sears, and found some linen shirts I can wear at work and to the umpteen billion weddings I have to go to this summer. Next I went to JC Penney and found a couple pairs of pants I can wear to said weddings as well as work. I stopped to talk to my friend Jason for a while at Foot Locker... then decided to get something to eat since it wasn't anywhere near 2 yet. I ate at Subway.. then got really bored. I did something I don't do... I went to Dillards, marched up to the Clinique counter, and started browsing at makeup. I'm not a huge makeup wearer, but something inside kept telling me I was tired of looking either (dead) tired, or like I was maybe 16, when I have a professional job. I needed a more polished look. The lady that helped me was awesome, we played with all sorts of colors, and found some that worked as well as corrected some flaws I've got going on. However the downside is that I then bought a lot of stuff (although its stuff that will last a while as far as brushes go and whatnot, and I do consider these things an investment)... but anyway yeah. It was 2, so I went and got my hair done (which will be posted about here in a bit)... and I left to go home at 4... 6 hours from when I started.. and a lot more poor.

A picture will be in with my hair dying post :)

19. Eat Out

What a way to start the summer, eh?

On my lunch break from work, I ate at Panda Express. I'm a fan of the place. I switched it up a bit today, and went away from my normal fried rice/beef with broccoli/orange chicken and got chow mein/orange chicken/chicken with mushrooms. It was tasty. My friend Patrick met me there too, so it was nice not having to eat by myself. :)

Introduction

Welcome to Hockeyfrog's (hey thats me!) Project Best Summer Ever: 2006 Edition. For a little bit of background, check out my friend Shannon's blog for last year's PBSE. He started this whole crazy mess. I blame him. Seriously! :) I am looking forward to this summer's competition since I won't be working 40 hours a week, although I am taking 10 hours of class and working 25 hours a week (which equals out to more than 40 hours a week again. hmm), but yeah. A little more flexibility this time around.

Anyway this is where I will post my progress, document things with some photos, do some write ups... yeah.

To the right, you will find some links, such as to where everyone's progress is being kept track of, and other random good stuff... like... my birthday wishlist. It is coming up soon. August 11. Hint Hint.

In any case, if you want more information, or want to play, get ahold me and I'll get you in contact with those more in charge :D. Have a great summer, everybody!
